norton antivirus profesional broken.

I have norton antivirus profwssional. IT has worked fine for 3 MONTHS but
now 'autoprotect' is switched off and will not switch back on, and 'email scanning' is also disabled.
i have spent 2 days trying all the advice on Symantecs help page, but all to no avail.
Its a good program when working but the backup strikes me as pathetic.
any ideas- apart from cut my losses and buy a different antivirus program?

Yes it is, if you install avg on both computers, my daughters and mine are networked via an adsl router with no problems.

Try uninstalling it if you have any other Norton software uninstall that on reboot do a search for Norton delete any files found then do a search for Symantec and delete any files found reboot and
reinstall the Norton software.
Did you register your software??

Try Panda Antivirus Platinum Interner Security, the latest version. That repairs itself in the event of these type of problems.

I too had norton for a while which worked great but then started playin up.

Webcleanup stopped working, then autoprotect would not load at startup, strangely my system took ages for startup items to load, convinced it was norton i deleted all traces of norton from pc,installed AVG and pc is back to normal again.
