When running LiveUpdate for Norton Internet Security Professional 2002 I get error message "LU1899: LiveUpdate could not update this product or component. If this problem persists please visit the Symantec Support web site for more information." and my Norton AntiVirus does not work. Symantec do not offer any help for this as the 2002 version is no longer supported! My Norton AntiVirus has also stopped working. I am using Windows 98SE. Can anyone help?

The Symantec page for error LU1899 is of no help as it says that Symantec know of the fault but do not have as solution.

I renewed my subscription and then this problem started so I have now virus protection in exchange. Thanks!

Symantec have you any useful comment?

I too have been getting the 'lu1899' message when I run Norton's Live update. My version is 2004 and is STILL supported but Norton have been of no help whatsoever. I believe the problem started after installing Windows XP Service Pack 2.
