I am having a lot of problems with my pc and after speaking to someone the other day am wondering if they could be caused by Norton. Do you think I should un-install it and use another security provider and if so which one?

Agreed - Norton can be a real hog of resources, and many people go for the free option (I use Avast!). You'll need to visit the Norton website to download their uninstall tool. Might as well wait until you get your broadband set up. you will be staggered at the speed of downloading stuff compared to dialup!

..... Not sure where oldbeefer2 got the idea of impending change to broadband, but either way provided you use Norton's special uninstaller programme, and NOT the basic Windows one, you should have no trouble with remnants spooking things for you.

It would be a good idea to download any freebie replacement first, but do not install it until you are offline and have cleared Norton completely.
