Just a quick one.My ATX PSU has given up the ghost. Is it OK to use an older non ATX PSU with an ATX motherboard, if I change over the plugs/wiring?I know the ATX PSU is turned on through the motherboard. I was wondering if using a separate 240v switch for the PSU would cause any probs.Helpful suggestions please.
Check your voltages. Older AT voltages are different. I wouldn't risk it!Ian
I agree it's a bit risky but heres a bit of info that might be useful especially table 3.3 click here
get new ATX PSU's cheap now, i mean under a £10.Look on ebuyer.com
I agree with Pilch from exiled-gamers.co.uk, you better off with new one. Invest more to get a better and quiet one even.
Thanks for the info - & the web page. Might get a new ATX one, but I have got a ncice 450w PSU doing nothing at present.CheersKeith.
Sell it and put the money towards a quality atx one
