  craigy1 19:02 04 Nov 2004

hi I have a 6230 nokia phone and would like to connect to my laptop. Now my laptop is a DELL latitude D600 with a infa red bit on the side.

How does my phone connect to it? Does my laptop need a infa red dongle to give out the signal so my phone can see it.? Cos my phone wont see the laptop and vice versa.

Would it be easier nad cheaper to but the cable from nokia at 40 quid?

hope I have made sense !!!!!!!!!

thanks for any help

You need to set up the connection. Put infrared in Help and Support.

You need to turn on the IR function on the phone once you have activated (usually in connectivity) once its activated on both your computer and phone just put them side by side ie. IR ports facing.

You will need nokia software from the site unless you are the lucky owner of a CD with this software that came with your phone called "Nokia Phone Browser" But if the connection works it will tell you that a device is connected to the port.
