No Webcam hardware?

Ive got a laptop and for some reason when i click on the webcam it says sorry you have no video capture hardware??
What does this mean?
im not very good with computers and duno what this means but want to get the webcam on.
can anyone help??

More info required, os, is the webcam built in or usb? If usb, have you installed the camera software?

laptops band new, camera is built in, so no software came with it, that i know of. need anymore info? i duno wot OS means?

OS = Operating System ... ie Windows XP or Vista?

Look for Windows Movie Player - Start>All Programs>Windows Movie Player .......... this has Capture etc in it, so it should find your camera.

Windows Movie Player is called Windows Media Player in Vista.

Hmm, nice Notebook. The Video Hardware is, of course, the built-in 1.3Meg Camera. So there must surely be software to go with the camera. What about your User Manual (probably on CD)?

If it is not working, I would advise you to return it and ask for an explanation or replacement Notebook.
