No USB ports appear to be working and I cannot move mouse to investigate!

As above really, none of the USB ports will work, mouse light flashes briefly when plugged in, but doesn't work either (and I no longer have a PS2 mouse!) any ideas? Thank-you

Could be that the PSU is failing. Not enough power to the USB ports.

Does it start Ok in safe mode.

If using W/7 click on the windows logo using the keyboard.then using the up down buttons on the keyboard navigate to accessories.System tools.System restore and see if you can restore the computer to a time it was working.

I had a similar problem some time ago, after lots of suggestions I found that one of the keys on my keyboard was stuck down, when I released it, things were normal again. just thought I'd mention it.
