After running the recovery cd on my laptop i now have no sound, pc tells me 'there are no active mixer devices availible' and tells me to 'add hardware' but i dont have any cd with latop to install any sound hardware!! my laptop is a packard bell versa E400. I go into device manager and notice that next to 'MPU-401 compatible midi device'that there is a yellow circle with a warning sign inside it, when i click on it, it tells me 'This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system'??? .

english as opposed to computerease - your pc should have been supplied with a motherboard driver cd - use this to reinstall your motherboards drivers. If your system has a separate sound card you need to install the driver for it either from your cd or from the makers site.
