Hi,

Does anyone know why I do not get any sound playing videos in IE?

Been on YouTube & Google Video & all is well except for the lack of sound.

Thanks.
Regards,
J

Have you checked your sound settings? What os?

Have you checked in Volume Control that nothing is muted?

Yes & yes. I think it might be deeper than that like a Flashplayer setting or something.

All options are correct in IE/Tools/Options/Advanced for media so a bit of a mystery.

All sound is fine for playing audio files by the way.

Any further thoughts?

Cheers.

Hi again,

Actually I've just realised that whatever the problem is it also affects system sounds.

To sum up if I turn my volume to max I can hear sysem sounds & sound from a video on the internet very, very faintly. I can hear my audio files in WMP absolutely fine.

Is it a registry issue perhaps?

Thanks.

On further web investigation there is a huge amount of people with the same problem all of a sudden & on all browser types. I wonder if this has been an auto-update conflict as so many seem affected?

There are some registry solutions out there & I have tried a few but to no use so far.

Has anyone else got this issue?

Thanks.
