No Sound on DVD's

  Trepan 11:36 29 May 2007

My DVD R/RW and DVD ROM will not play the sound from retail DVD films. They both work fine with Music CD's etc. Any ideas?

Hi Kev, thanks for the links. Will give it a go, just one question you may be able to answer: - if it does not work is it easy to uninstall ie does it leave any after-junk.

Thanks again.

Trepan, hola

Those are for codec packs that many of us use. Every so often they need to be taken off and replaced with the latest one. The process is clean and quite straight forward. Have no fears about debris.

Frankly though, unless you are a M$ fanboy VLC is a far better media solution. It'll smack 'em out the park without needing anything else: click here

M$ Fanboy! Ohboy Noboy just that it came with the pack. Have also been using REAL but the same issues exist.

Thanks for the input and I will give VLC a whirl, I guess I would still need the codec pack though?.

Sorry about the "bleed'n obvious" but a bit of a numpty over all this stuff.

Negative amigo. VLC is self contained.

Problem solved all is working and I have loaded VLC to give it a whirl.

Thanks a bunch Kev.Ifty and baldtaco.
