Ok Jo download SIW click here save the download to your desktop.
Run the program and look under motherboard, post back the details listed.

We can then try to find the correct driver.

Did you try updating the audio driver via device manager ?

Alternatively try the codec pack click here download and install.

Try a System Restore back to when sound was working ok.

there is loads of info which do u need?

  jo_jo 23:22 19 Sep 2007

ps how do i do system restore wont i loose everything?

  Technotiger 08:24 20 Sep 2007

To do a System Restore go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

then choose to Start your computer from an earlier date. When the calendar appears choose a date that is shown in BOLD print. Choose a date back to when you know your sound was working ok. All the dates shown in BOLD print are your available Restore Dates.

You will not lose everything. If you had installed any new program between your chosen date and today, then you would lose that program (but you can always re-install it afterwards anyway). If you have not recently installed anything new, then you will not lose anything.

Hmm, OK, try the Codec pack from skidzy's link above.

If that does not work we can then try to find a better driver for your sound/mobo, or suggest something else to try, such as explaining how to update your sound driver from within Device Manager.

Have to go out not, will look in again later.
