No Sound

I have a PC (XP Pro) which has a K7SEM Mainboard that includes onboard sound. A while back I attached an Iiyama ProLite E483S flat panel screen, which has built-in speakers and all was fine.

Recently, the sound has stopped working. I have tried attaching another set of speakers to try to eliminate the screen as being the problem and they didn't work either. I've checked the taskbar icon to make sure it's not muted and now would appreciate some advice on what to check next please?

try going to device manager and uninstalling the sound from there and then reboot and let windows reinstall and see if that works. Windows should have the drivers but if you have the mobo disc it would not hurt to put that in the drive while rebooting.

Thanks for the reply. Tried that and it re-appeared in Device Manager (no on-screen evidence of the re-install) but it hasn't fixed it.

Also tried installing the latest sound drivers for the motherboard, no change. Any ideas please??

Thanks but I've checked all that already.
