I bought a Netgear WG111v2 wireless adaptor on ebay, when I received it, it didn't have a setup cd with it, I've looked on the Netgear site but can't see any thing on setup software download

I've just read the installation guide, the first thing it says is to insert the resource cd.
version 3.3.0
To Upgrade

1. Download using the button below to a convenient place such as your desktop. Note that this is a large file! ( 5.96 MB )

2. Uninstall the existing adapter software by selecting Start > Programs > NETGEAR WG111v2 Adapter > Uninstall NETGEAR WG111v2 Smart Wizard. The Install Assistant window displays. (Windows XP screens are shown however the process works similarly in other operating systems.)

seeing as I don't have an existing adaptor software
If I just installed it would work?

To be honest just try and see, just create a system restore point first.

Hi, I've been looking again at the only download for the WG111v2 wireless adaptor on Netgears site, and its for a firmware upgrad not a installation guide

Try this click here

MCE2K5's link is to download Vista only drivers/sw. If you're using XP download from click here.

The install may be slightly different in XP in that you have to install the drivers/sw first, then REBOOT & finally insert the adaptor into a USB port. That's what I had to do with my WG111T (btw, also off eBay that came with no disk, but the downloaded ones off Netgear worked fine). G
