no power at USB HUBS.

I have two USB points on my K7SEM motherboard,I have checked Hardware in Device Manager and both hubs are registered as working properly, but when I plug my software into them It appears they are both dead, they have been working perfectly for the past 18 months (the age of the Unit).i have tried 4 different cables all to no avail.Does this mean a new Motherboard? Any help gratefully received.Chas.

Not being pedantic, but what do you mean by plugging software into a USB port?

What hardware are you trying to use? Sometimes putting more than one device in requires more power than a port will provide and a powered hub is necessary.

i also had this problem, im not sure if it is exactly the same though. i consulted the device manager and found they were disabled, by cliking properties and un-cheking disable, they were working perfectly. (not sure if this will help)

Uninstall and reinstall drivers.

Wire assignments

+5v -data + data grnd.

if you do not have 5v between +5v pin and grnd then fuse blown on Motherboard (non replaceable)

Solution fit a PCI USB2 card £10.
