Hi all,

Im having a bit of a problem and hope you can help me.

My PC wont boot up. Its getting power but wont turn on.

A light is lit on my motherboard and my bluetooth dongle but when I press the power button nothing happens. No beeps, no fans, nothing.

Im completely at a loss and dont know what to do. Can someone please help me?

Thank you.

the simplest things first.

Press the power on button very gently and slowly, and listen/feel for a distinct but very quiet click as the power switch operates. If you don't hear/feel it you may have a faulty switch.

Secondly, put your hand over the PSU fan outlet when you operate the switch, and see if you can feel a gentle air current. If you can't the problem is almost certainly the switch.

Thanks for your quick reply.

It still clicks but absolutely nothing happens. If I connect the two wires coming out of the switch, should it start up then?

UPDATE:
Ive disconnected everything except the PSU, CPU & Motherboard. Still nothing!

If I put my ear right up tp the PSU I can hear a slight noise and if I press the switch (to turn it on) then the noise becomes slightly louder & a higher pitch.

Im not sure if that is any use.

I'd consider replacing the PSU - it does sound like it might be at fault. If you have a spare, it's certainly worth trying that.
