"No Paper" message when there is in Win 98

I am running Windows 98 and get the message "No paper in printer" when there is. If I reboot and try again it works!

I have tested the printer, nozzle heads, cable, paper supply, form feed etc. It just does not print until I reboot and then it is fine and then stops again!

the cartridge became unseated.

There will be a sensor or some kind of leaver etc. that needs triggering it may be faulty just lift the paper and drop it back in it should work then. You could try installing a new driver for your printer

Or even simply reinstall your existing printer software in case it's got corrupted. LC.

Are you using an HP printer?
I get the same problem if the pc is started when the printer is empty on start-up.

Still no luck. The printer is an Epson c40 plus.
