No disk in drive warning

  jack 08:53 12 Jun 2008

We all have removable disk drives of one sort or another.[Floppies Optical/Media card, even I dare say a Zip here and there]
They in the main sit there when not called up to perform- quietly waiting our command.
One of mine the Compact Flash element of the media card reader on boot up comes up to tell me - 'No Disk in Drive'
I have to click cancel twice before it gets the message -from me to shut up and go back to sleep.
How can I shut it up.?
Apart that is of putting a card in the slot.

You could stop the device from safely remove hardware. It will start again when a card is inserted.

Easy enough to re configure

Check msconfig you may have a startup program that is trying to access something on that drive.

Thank you Fruit Bat
Took a look - nothing apparent- that could be ticked/unticked relating to that.
Indeed another start up item -Ink Saver- Also comes up at start up -saying words to effect - cant contact printer. Well I know why that is - printer not switched on.
So I thought- untick it - that'll stop it.

Oh no it didn't

So at risk of ticking/unticking something I didn't oughtea- I'll leave it a-naggin.
