In the Disk Defragmenter window, click the "Configure Schedule" button. At the bottom of the new window that opens, click on "Select Disks" and tick drive C: if it's listed.

try a 3rd party defrag to see if the problem persists.

Hi all, And thank you both for the help. C: is all ready listed and ticked.

I ran CHKDSK ,registry mechanic and even tried a repair install, not sure what worked, but the option to defrag C: is now available ?????

Strange,but now its fine.

Thanks again for the help

Just a thought is your C drive a SSD, if it is Win 7 will not defrag the drive.
