No boot into old xp

xp pro sp2.
My computer just went out.
Blew the fuse on my power supply. put in a new power suply which happily ran the fans but no motherboard activity at all.
Took the oportunity and put in a new mb and cpu. Now it boots to the black xp screen and then re boots again and again.
installed a new xp and it runs ok, but i had the old one tuned up for me and i don't realy want to spend weeks tuning a new one.
I tried repairing it with the xp disk, but no good.
Any sugestions gratefully accepted.
Thanks in advance.

you wont be able to run the old one because you cant run an old version of xp with a new mobo. to get a new mobo working with xp you have to reinstall xp which you have done, rendering the old version inopperable

Has posted, the drivers and settings for your new hardware are totally different from your older installation.

Format your hdd, and perform a clean install.

If you have critical data on the hard drive, backup to an external device prior to the format.
