I would really like to produce a local newsletter for our group but i have no idea. Is it true that I have to buy a desk top publishing kit and could anyone tell me how much it is and is this what I need to get started. Thanks

Do you have Word already installed on your machine? If Not follow VoG`s link.

I use both to make newsletters using simple Tables to align text and images. Then I can send them as an attachment (Word Document or PDF) in an e-mail which covers 50% of our membership. We then laser print the rest and send them by traditional mail.

If you want to produce newsletters just for printing follw De Marcus`s link and try Serif.
