NEW - Zonelabs Online Security Scanner

  bloo meeny 12:05 16 Apr 2004

Think this may be new to some of you .....

It is free and unless I am mistaken is not a trial period to tempt users to upgrade to 'pro'.
It runs from the web-page and can be run as often as needed.
Time will tell if it picks up anything more that the usual progs (you know the ones).

Note to Djohn etc....
If this has been posted before, I will jump out of the nearest window !
I used the search from the index page, and tried various combos of "zonelabs/security/scanner/and/or/titles/threads/postings" etc. etc.

(cue- someone saying "it work's for me.........!!)

Does this mean you all know about it already ?

Thanks from me as well.

For information.
From a test I did all of the spyware it found were also found and deleted by spybot and adaware

  GANDALF <|:-)> 15:06 16 Apr 2004

What does this do that Adaware/Spybot cannot?

  bloo meeny 15:17 16 Apr 2004

As far as I can see at the moment .......NOTHING !
From the FAQ, it appears that it detects cookies, trackers etc. - but it 'integrates with Zone Alarm Pro'.

Ahaaa ! so It IS being used to tempt users to upgrade to ZoneAlarm Pro !!!

My mistake !

Still it is free, being web-based it requires no updates (should at least save some space on this forum !), and MAY just MAY get something the others don't.
Sorry but I only found it yesterday and my system is so squeaky-clean (famous last words) that the ZA scanner hasn't found anything yet :(

bloo meeny dont apologise.

most of us use spybot adaware etc but its always good to have an other alternative.

Bloo dont apologise, my thread was only advisory non of us likes clutter on our computor. My reply was I suppose aimed to help members and it was saying if one bit of software does a task need we duplicate.
