I have just installed a new wireless router in preperation for my new laptop arriving, however, sine I have installed the router my internet connection (NTL 4Meg) on my desktop PC conneted to router via ethernet cable, has slowed to a crawl when using (However If I do a speed test is says I have 3.8 Meg)
I am not an expert by any menas on PC's & I Need some help to sort this please.
I am using the cable which came with the router, My ethernet card driver is up to date.
I think the problem may be that the lights on the front of the router keep flashing, I think I need them to be constant in order to have a good internet connetion. I have tried a couple of resets but nothing works.
OK, the lights are normal and will settle once the router has sorted itself out. you may have to leave it for a while. If the lights do not go 'steady' then unplug from mains for a couple of minutes, reboot the PC and replug again.
Once replugged it should go through the set up.
