New User - Help with AVG please

  GroupFC 11:53 21 Feb 2003

I am a new (and a complete novice!) computer user and have been following various threads to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible.

Following advice received here about AVG I have just run my first test so please bear with me if my question seems obvious/silly.

The test revealed that I had the bugbear virus and dealt with it accordingly.

When I view the details of the test results it shows a number of files could not be opened and are therefore not checked. These all appear to have the extensions . DAT and .LOG.

The question is should these be checked and how do I set-up AVG to check them?

Is there anything else that I should alter from the default settings?

All advice/comments will be gratefully received.

I don't think you need to worry at all about .dat & .log files. As long as there are green ticks in Control Centre, Residents Sheild, Email Scanner, & Virus Database when you open AVG, thats all you need worry about. Keep checking for updates.
