New Skytalk connection rubbish

Sky switched on our broadband on Thursday and its been marginally better than dial ever since.(200kbps)

They initially blamed a cable fault and asked us to wait 48 hrs, now they say there is a piece of line management software running causing the slow connection and that when it is finished 9within 10 days) we will get a decent (expected 5 mb) link?

Has anyone ever heard of this? I think it was called DLS or simillar.

I guess you mean DLM - Dynamic Line Management

Your broadband might take a few days to settle down to a constant speed but it will be worth it.

Sky normally have good customer service people and they do try to help, I had an intermittent fault on my line and it did take them a couple of weeks to sort it but at the end of it I now have a 9 Meg download speed.

Your stats should appear some thing like this
Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8868 kbps 738 kbps
Line Attenuation 37 db 17 db
Noise Margin 7 db 8 db

but not as you know it,

stats were constant as below for over a week,

Your stats should appear some thing like this
Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 288 kbps 488 kbps
Line Attenuation 37 db 17 db
Noise Margin 7 db 8 db

we got the run around and tonight the final straw was 'It must be BT's fault', which is what I suggested a week ago given the 'noise' on the line, so i canceled the account and went back to our 2mb cable which will shortly be 10mb for no extra cost.

So Goodbye Sky.

Thanks for all the posts and the help,
