New Sis USB drivers for Windows XP?

  Happy37 15:27 04 May 2009

Hello everyone...

Please can someone help me locate the latest drivers for USB? The OS is Windows XP Home, with all the security patches applied and up to date.

In a Belarc Advisor generated report, it says:-

Bus Adapters:-
SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller (3x)
SiS PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller

I assume that the enhanced host controller denotes that USB 2.0 is being used on this motherboard, which is a Foxconn 661 7MJ?

The person who I am asking on behalf of is having trouble with his laptop not recognising some USB devices, yet his laptop does recognise some others when they are plugged in?

Any ideas, please?

Thanks for your help - all responses gratefully received.

Quick Google found this click here

Some USB devices do have their own device drivers. I have an Iomega USB device that needs specific USB drivers for example (they come on a supplied CD).

This was all resolved - it wasn't a driver problem anyway, the desktop PC neede a good claean, and once that was done, all was OK.

Thanks to all those that replied.
