New SATA HD not recognised

  Tom Steele 11:11 19 Apr 2008

Hi there,

Can anybody out there please help me. I am using Vista Home Premium. I have just installed a new 2nd SATA HD.It is detected O.K., and shows in System Info for my PC ,and is visible and shown as working correctly in 'Device Manager'.

When I go to 'My Computer', though, it only shows the original 'C' drive. The second drive is not being recognised.

Is there anybody out there who can tell me what I need to do in order to correct this.

I am not an expert in this area, so please try to make it as simple to understand as possible.

Many thanks in advance for you assistance.

Right click computer > manage > disk management > right click new drive and create new partition or volume.
