new pc setup

i have just finished building a new pc
athlon xp 2800mhz chip
asus a7v8x-mx mobo
512mb ddr pc2700
120gig maxtor hard drive
onboard sound and vga

i have come across one problem when i start the pc up it stops at the bios screen and says warning cpu fan has low!
it also says press f1 to continue
i went into the bios and observed the hardware monitor for about 20 minutes it read constantly at 51f which i have been informed is ok how do i stop it giving me this warning all the time.
the heatsink is an arctic pro 2 it has temperature control built in.
i would rely appreciate help thanks

I don't know if this will help but on your Asus drivers CD there should be an option to install the Asus Probe utility.

Install this, then execute it, ususally from All Programs/Asus Utility. Click the icon that it places in the system tray (bottom right) and select the settings tab. Here you can set the threshold fan rpm values to anything you wish.

As I say I don't know if this will affect the BIOS message but it's worth doing if you haven't done so already. The default threshold on mine is 600rpm.

The reading you quote sounds more like a temperature (51f) but you can change that threshold too.
