Ok so Im finally gonna bite the bullet and buy a new pc . The budget isnt great , I dont want to go over £800 , needs to be able to play games ( the kids have just got Sims2 and it runs like a dog ) I just use it for surfing and writing cds/dvds , 17" TFT monitor would be nice - but which processor - Im not sure wether to go to Dell or Mesh ?? Any advice please .

will satisfied your requirements.

The Sims 2 is not a real 3D game, so it is not very picky on graphics card. It play fine on my daughter's PC with ATI9200SE graphics card.

For TFT monitore, better to check response time and get one with 16ms response time (definitely aviod 25ms model) in case kids want to play fast moving games.

cannot believe it can be so cheap

better to upgrade graphics card to ATI 9600 XT.

Maybe bigger hard disk as well.
