new motherboard & processor

hi i have decided to change my motherboard (previous post)which has blown capasitors i was going to use the old processor but decided to buy a new one with new heatsink and fan the old processor is a sempron 2200 the new one is a sempron 2600 the motherboard is the the same as the old one asrock K7S417GX what i would like to ask advice on is i have a acronis full backup for the pc could i us it and then put thedriver disc in for thenew processor my xphome disc is an upgrade but i was hoping to save installing all my programs again or could i try a repair thanks Chippy

shouldn't be a problem as no "drivers" loaded in windows for the CPU its just a matter of setting the motherboad rates in BIOS which is probably alreay done on the board when you bought the buindle.

Yes it should work, but as you say load the new Driver CD
