Im thinking about replaceing my modem with a different one mine is a CNXT V92 Data Fax Voice and looking too repace it with a Zoom V92 PCI modem whould I experience any difference with a new one?

Unlikely, if your present modem is an external one stick with it, a pci modem uses cpu power to a small degree but uses it none the less.

Unless you use a proper PCI hardware modem rather than the "soft" type.

Agree with Stuartli, still performance wise I don't think you'll find any gain in download speeds.

I want too update the Driver for it, but not sure which driver I need can you advise look click here

Why do you want to update it? Are you having trouble?

To be honest it's been a long time since I've used a dialup modem, and from what I can remember about updating conexant drivers (actually identifying them is hard enough) it's probably best left well alone unless it's causing probs.

Im getting sluggish speeds with it doesnt connect at the maximum at 56k

Average speeds with a dialup modem will be between around 44k to 49.2-50k - best I've ever known or had is 52k with Pipex with a Diamond SupraExpress 56i Pro and best Tiscali return with the same setup was 49.2k.

You, or anyone else, will never get 56k...:-)

Yep I used to get about 46kbps downloads
