Please can you help. My new laptop came with a trial of Mcafee which has a firewall, I also have Vista firewall and my wireless router also has a firewall. Which one should i use. Would the router one be ok?.
I also intend to download avast to relace the free Mcafee one. Would this be advised?
Thanks in advance.

The Vista firewall plus your Router will be fine.

Avast (or AVG8) will be a good free alternative to Mcafee.

Use the one in the router and the Vista one this will be sufficient.

Add Avast as your antivirus.

Get a real time scanner for your antispyware (sywareterminator) add a blocker (spywarebalster) and a backup scanner (Adaware / sybot / superantispyware)

something to block the spam (Mailwasher / spaminhilator)

and just keep them all updated.

Then sit back with peace of mind that you are well protected and its cost you nothing.

So i need to use 2 firewalls then?

The Vista is safe and the router is automatic. Don't worry.
