Hi

I have never bought a computer before and I have made up my mind with getting a laptop... but I don’t want to mess up!

I have a budget of about £700. I need to able to travel with it - on trains for example. More importantly I plan to do some editing on it so I need it to have a large memory, to go fast and it must include a firewire. Any ideas? Should I wait for the sales after Christmas to get a better deal? All newbie questions sorry...

Also is it true that I should stay well clear of Dell?

Can anyone help me out ? Thank you!

'Also is it true that I should stay well clear of Dell?'....you have been given erroneous information. I have bought many Dell computers and they are fantastic value for the money and the 1520 is the one I would look at or the one next to it with a 17" screen....click here
