Have you thought about buying a Radeon X800 Pro as these retail around the £300 mark?
I just bought one a few days ago and it rocks!

Go for a 9800pro click here £132 v good card and get another 512mb ram £50 odd quid.. might not play doom3 in extreme detail but as your not a mad gamer this would be the best bang for buck route

Zane, my PC is a Medion PC-MT6.

It's spec.:-

Medion MD5000 motherboard (actually an MSI 6701, renamed)
P4B 2.66 Ghz
512 MB PC 2700 RAM

and I did have a Radeon 9000 64MB AGP card installed until a fortnight ago.........

Coincidence? Or do you have the same PC?

If you have a quick look here click here it will give you an idea of the type of graphic card you will want to play any of the currant games or any future games using DOOM3 engine.
