New fans for pc case

  Barnacarry 16:02 03 Nov 2008

I built my first computer about 6 months ago and everything worked well until I left it on for a few hours, housework et al, and I came back to find the the BSOD. This happened a few time over the next month and so I took the side panels off to let the air get to it (thinking it was overheating) and all is now fine.
My question is, if I buy a couple of new fans where do I put them, what size do I get and should they be Blowers or Suckers. (Unsure of the technical term)

“My question is, if I buy a couple of new fans where do I put them”

It all depends on the case that you have, check the case if it will take extra fans

On some cases there are cutouts to install extra fans in the front, back, top and on the side cover

Case fans that is available in size and in any colour

If there are no extra cutouts to install extra fans you can look at PCI fans

Thanks ambra4, I think I'll source the Vantec Spectrum UV LED blue fan card w/speed controller
as I can put it in my PCI slot, and it's only £8.00. Saves a lot of thinking and messing about. Cheers.
