Hello.

I have just set up a dual boot system with WIN XP and VISTA,each on a separate HDD.

When the PC boots,I receive the two options to choose which OS.

On the bottom of the screen I have an option to go advanced by pressing F8,can you explain what this will offer please.
Also there is a message to run I believe a memory test of some kind?.

Last question, should I see both HDD's in my computer.I can access all the files on the other HDD ?.

Thank you

"I have an option to go advanced by pressing F8,"

I have never tried that one ;-)

never seen that one. It could be your AV or other spyware prog running.

"Last question, should I see both HDD's in my computer.I can access all the files on the other HDD ?."

This is the best.
With in XP you can view and use folders on the Vista partition.

In Vista you will be mainly refused to view or alter any of the files or folders on the XP partition. I find it easier to copy the files from the XP partition on to a memory stick and work on them in Vista.

Progress.:-)

I've just done a reboot.

No sign of a F8 option but I think it's probably an option to go to safe mode etc.

The memory message I have also got. It's windows memory management tool. Though I can't scroll down to it.
