just powered up a new Asus F3F Laptop running XP Home SP2 and noticed on the desktop was NTFS covert file DOSS Prompt icon with cog wheels picture in it.Before looking at this I went to view the 80GB HDD and found C Partition in FAT 32 size roughly 43.6GB & D Partition is NTFS size 29GBCould someone tell me if the partitions are incorrect I would have thought the bigger 43.6GB should be NTFS and smaller be 29GBThe Laptop has 2 Recovery CDs which I am wondering if this will correctly install the partitions as I think clickin on the NTFS icon in the first place goosed it up.Help please as I am setting it up for my Daughter Xmas Gift.
One will probably be for the drivers+tools Etc,The other should be the recovery Disc,Sorry I cant help with your problem,But I am sure there are others that can, Good luck.
the 29GB NTFS Partition is the Recovery but I have seen this the otherway round everytime.I have these options to run a Recovery using the Recovery CDs1. Recover to 1st Partition only(allowing other partitions to be left alone)2. Recover to Entire HDD(creates new System Partition as Drive C)3. This option deletes both partitions from the drive and re-created them new C: 60% & D: 40%Personally I think NTFS should be the main partition can someone please help
