Netwrok card fitting screws up TCP/IP on Modem

  danelectro 14:41 29 Feb 2004

I have a PC with a modem installed, everything works fine, but I want to network another PC thats when the problem starts.
As soon as i attach a network card to the Host (the one with the modem)computer it screws up the host connection to the interent and email, the modem dials and connects fine, but you cannot go on the interent or use your email. it does say something about TCP/IP but I don't have a clue.
I am running windows XP on both machines. Incidentally the client pc quite happily connects through the host pc on both email and internet and file sharing.
