Networking Win 2000 Server to Win 98 problem

I am trying to use my Windows 2000 Server O/S as a host to connect it to another PC which runs on Win 98. I am trying to do this using a 3Com EtherLink III ISA (3C509/3C509b) in Legacy mode, which states (from the server) that it is connected. When I go into 'my network places, and try to view entire network, only the server is being recognised as being connected.
I am new to using 2000 server. How do I get it to recognise that the other PC is connected? Do I have to do anything on the win 98 PC
