please help i have a msi board and i am using on board lan. i plugged a 10/100 lan card in my sons computer and cabled together.all i get is on both computers, is cable unplugged. i have bt broadband basic,pleasr advise.ps i have turned lan on in bios.

Have you connected them together wih a 'crossover' cable? - you need this type rather than the standard 'one-to-one' type. Have a look at click here for loads of info. on networking/internet sharing etc.

Couple of thoughts:
What operating system are you using?

Are you using a switch/hub/router. If not you will need a crossover cable rather than a plain patch - or you can buy an adapter which will plug into one end of the cable and effect the crossover.

Have you checked that the LAN cards are correctly set up in Device Manager.
