Network Security

Decided to beef security in home network. have been running router with security disabled. But when set up my belkin wireless router to WPA-PSK (no server)
with TKIP encryption, both my son's networked compters kept dropping broadband connection. I set up password okay in both machines. I am using belkin 54mbps (802.11g) wireless router. One son is on a compaq laptop with built in wireless 802.11b, other son uses a Belkin USB adapter on his pc 802.11g.

Never thought about security much until I was able to access my network from my street with my pda.

Any ideas why this might be happening.

If you are having problems with WPA-PSK encryption, try setting up 128-bit WEP instead. For additional security, you could also enable MAC address filtering.
