Network Drives

I have a small hone network and am pretty sure when booting up the machines it is slowed down by seraching out the shared drives on the other 2 machines.

I also think that I can alter the network settings so it only connects to these drives when needed.

Anyone any ideas ?

Did you mean, shared drives or mapped drives on the other two machines? I found that mapping the other networked drives definitely slowed the boot process, but there was no such slowing if the drives were just shared. I therefore did away with mapping and found that the boot process speeded up considerably

from the option "Reconnect at logon" for each drive involved.
