Network connectivity problems

I have the following dilemma:

Computer A does not connect to my LAN using Network Point A.

Computer B connects to my LAN using Network Point A.

Computer A connects to my LAN using Network Point B.

Computer B connects to my LAN using Network Point B.

Any suggestions as to why A cannot connect to A? It used to.

It's a Windows 2000 network. Computer A is a Windows 2000 PC, Computer B is XP.
