  Pangie 19:30 22 Sep 2010

Im using XP and since last week I can not connect to internet.

In the Network Connections folder, that folder is empty.

Please assist on how to re-instal the Local Area Connection icon.

Thank you in advance for your support

Which ISP are you using, try following their instructions for the initial connection.
Or have you tried system restore?

I can not re-instal Virgin broadband, I guess its because of the missing Local area connection

If you are connected through an ethernet cable just switching of your modem for two minutes then switching back on usually does the trick.
But no doubt you have tried that.
make sure all of the lights are on on the modem and if you have the telephone package with them as well call 150 it is free and they will help you sort it out.

Just checked mine in W/7 and it is set to manual.
I suppose either would do.
