Network Connection Problems

A few months ago I successfully set up a home network between my laptop & pc (both running windows xp) via a cross over cable. All was working fine & I was able to freely exchange files. Now when I connect the cable it reports connected but when I look in the workgroup I see only the pc or laptop not both, the other connected one does not come up & I can get no further. Please help & advise.

Many thanks

Have you upgraded, changed any settings or installed a new firewall.

Some things to check:

Network drivers.

Firewall settings.

Possibly the connection has become corrupt, try running the network wizard again.

Problems like this can occur after windows happily updates hardware for you, and bang. It stops working.

Best Regards
