Network+ / CCNA practice

  user8 14:22 09 Mar 2009

Need to practice networking on my own network prior to taking N+ & CCNA.
Looking at a basic set up of 2 routers or switches to connect up to 3 pc's running Win2k, XP Pro & Vista and possibly Linux.
Anyone know a good sites apart from Ebay to look at etc?

I would skip the N+ and go straight for the CCNA

Ebay is your best bet. Check out seller irp70, he is not the cheapest but has a good reputation and gives out advise.

Take a look here for some lab advise and free labs:

For your CCNA lab you really need at least 3 routers (2610s are fine with a WIC-1T card in each router), 2 switches (2950s) and a cisco router to act as a frame realy switch (cisco 2521). This is a great lab for CCNA and will serve as a basis for future cisco study.

I'm currently working towards my CCVP and here's an old pic of my lab:

If you need any help, just ask.

I prefer to do Network+ as i can do it in my spare time.
I did do the 1st Semester of CCNA but found the intensive method of the course not for me.
But feel once i have done N+ i would then have most of the skills to take CCNA again.

You can do the CCNA in your spare time, as I did.

But if you are new to the networking world then N+ will give you the background required for the CCNA.

I wish you luck in your studies.
