Network card v USB adapter

I've got a netgear USB network adaptor on my old laptop.

On my new laptop there is an inbuilt wifi adapter and this is much quicker and has a very good signal even outside than the old laptop with the USB one which is slower and mostly a poor signal, and can't get a signal at all out side.

Question: If I get a network card, would this be quicker and better than the USB one.
Thanks

Hi, yes, I would go for the network card - it is specially built for the job. usb is jack-of-all-trades.
