Network Card...

I recently bought a new cheap network card for one of my PC's, as the connection had become loose on a previous card, however when installing the card I found that it wouldn't install. It is detected as a PCI device, but when I try to install it via the windows xp drivers directory on the disk included I am told that no drivers could be found for this device or simular error. The card is the SAFECOM LAN 10/100mbps CARD.

click here should be the driver.

Unfortunately these are the same drivers as those which I have on the disk which don't work.

You'll have to contact Safecom then. They provide the drivers.

"no drivers could be found for this device or simular error"

What exactly does the error say?

Did you read the Readme file?

3. Run the diagnostic program found in the driver diskette. If a problem
arises during the installation, contact your dealer or
Fast Ethernet Controller Provider Inc. for support.

Thanks for your responses...

1. The error says... "The specified location does not contain information about your hardware"

2. Ebuyer sold me the card under their Extra Value range, so I cannot get support that way...

btw.. The card only cost two quid, so even if I did contact ebuyer, they would just tell me to send it back...

Looks like other people have the same problems.

Might be better to buy again! For cheap (and effecetive) cards, I've had no trouble with these...
