Network 3 PCs without a router

  freefx 23:39 29 Oct 2003

I have currently have two PC connected to each other using X-over cable sharing a cable broadband modem. O?S is WIndows XP Pro.

I am about to build a third PC. Can i connect the 3rd PC to the Host PC via yet another NIC card and do without a router?. ie the PC which is connected to the cable modem will have two other PCs connected to it via X-over cables, and the HOst PC will have 3 NIC card.

Can anyone please advise.

i think you would be better off using a basic hub or switch, Dabs have their own brand switch for not much more than a good NIC.
