Desktop Windows XP Laptop Vista

I am a newbie to Wi-Fi but have successfully got both systems set up to the Orange LiveBox.

Someone has suggested I download NetSumbler to "protect" my wi-fi connection.

Any thoughts on this - I do not do downloads of videos or music to any great extent.

I think the live box is security enabled but to be honest I have no idea!

Thanks in anticipate

NetStumbler doesn't work on Vista. You're secure enough with a LiveBox, it won't allow anything to connect without you pressing the association button on the side and comes with WEP enabled by default (not secure itself, but in combo with the first measure it's good enough).

You can do what NetStumbler does from Vista if you'd like to try it;
Open a command prompt as administrator

netsh (press return)
wlan show networks mode=bssid (press return)

Actually a quick search seems to suggest NetStumbler does work on Vista...didn't when I tried it...

Can't see how that prog can Protect you, Firewall & AV software would be better.
