Netsky - or not?

  Beth 15:25 09 Jul 2004

I saved an e-mail attachment to disc and then opened it. Uh-oh!

Norton found Netsky. I deleted the e-mail and the file and emptied the bin. I also downloaded the fix from Norton. I ran it and it came up with the message that my PC is not infected but, everytime I run the AV it finds it again. It seems to be finding a file in the recycle bin - c:\RECYCLED\DC53.ZIP - which is empty. Is my PC clean or not and how do I get rid of the stupid thing for good?

Are you on XP could be in your restore points?

Thanks both.

VoG - I've done the download, so I'll give it a try now.

Old Shep - No, I'm on Win98. I have a system restore disk and I tried to go back a week, which is well before the thing arrived, but it still shows on the AV scans.

Thanks loads.
